She is the most-starred woman chef in the world. His good luck charm was a star, which would guide  him to open his own couture house. Anne-Sophie Pic celebrates Christian Dior and the House’s fabulous heritage through a long-term collaboration,  a marvellous union of art de vivre… and living one’s dreams. By Marie Audran.

Last winter, a new constellation lit up the Dior universe. A captivating creative dialogue was set in motion: an unprecedented collaboration with the three-starred chef, the first chapter of which unfolded in Japan. This unique encounter between two worlds of excellence will evolve over the course of seasons, years and projects. Notably, on the horizon of this exceptional alliance is a new Monsieur Dior restaurant in Osaka, orchestrated entirely by Anne-Sophie Pic and set to open in 2025.

In a magnificent prelude, the French chef has thought up a selection of pastries and viennoiseries1 sublimely inspired by Christian Dior’s couture legacy. To make them, she immersed herself at length in the House’s archives, guided by her fascination for Monsieur Dior’s story and his “kingdom of dreams”.

Available exclusively at Le Café Dior by Anne-Sophie Pic2 in Osaka, these gourmet creations are clad in the signature codes of 30 Montaigne – from cannage to houndstooth, from leopard print to rose pink and the iconic toile de Jouy. The couture button – a “very important ornament”, as Christian Dior observed – is also sumptuously revisited. A poetic fusion of fashion and haute gastronomy savoir-faire, offering an enchanting, multi-sensory (re)discovery of the House’s heritage. An ode to audacity, the quintessence of elegance and inventiveness, elevated by an incredible aromatic complexity.

1. Complemented by irresistible “travel cakes” and chocolate bars decorated with haute couture sketches designed by Monsieur Dior.

2. Adjacent to the Dior boutique in Terminal 1 of Kansai International Airport, in the heart of Osaka Bay, Japan.

French Excellence Meets State-of-the-Art Innovation

The fourth generation in a prestigious lineage of French chefs, Anne-Sophie Pic was born in Valence in 1969. With unparalleled creativity, she continues to build on an extraordinary family history, in the footsteps of her grandfather, André Pic3, and her father, Jacques Pic. Like her, both were awarded three Michelin stars in their time. Ever open to the world and to new terroirs, the virtuoso chef is constantly innovating and seeking to create original culinary experiences far beyond French borders. Connecting cultures and discovering new ingredients – such as those used in the art of Japanese cuisine at Le Café Dior by Anne-Sophie Pic in Osaka – are her abiding passions. Immersing herself in new regions and traditions lets her bring her philosophy to life. In that spirit, she has opened no fewer than nine restaurants around the world, a dazzling meteoric trajectory.

3. Monsieur Dior is believed to have frequented André Pic’s establishment. A seemingly predestined encounter, now superbly reinvented through this unique collaboration with Dior.
