Dior Gold House:

The New
Kingdom of
Dreams

Last December, the House inaugurated the Dior Gold House in Bangkok. An exceptional place composed of gold and of art that feels suspended in time.

In a metropolis spiked with ultramodern skyscrapers*, Dior Gold House shines like a unique jewel. Nestled in a lush setting, this remarkable address invites visitors on a fabulous journey through the House’s history, from past to present. A spectacular vessel for this captivating odyssey, the building stands out first for its monumental architecture, which reproduces exactly the facade of the mansion at 30 Avenue Montaigne, the birthplace of Dior haute couture. Covered entirely in golden mosaic – an eternal symbol – Dior Gold House weaves virtuoso new connections between the House’s heritage and ancestral Thai craftsmanship.

An immersion in the heart of the Dior dream begins at the threshold, in a triumphal atrium adorned with the cannage motif, surmounted by a skylight in the shape of a star, the founding couturier’s lucky charm. Inside, successive worlds are revealed, staged in a series of customized spaces that cultivate subtle elegance magnified by natural materials. Bamboo, wood and raffia play counterpoint to walls in recycled marble, creating an atmosphere that is at once warm and ultra-contemporary. The House’s signatures dominate throughout. The graphics of Versailles parquet flooring play off the streets of the City of Light cast against the ceiling, bringing the Plan de Paris map to life.

Even more than a destination, Dior Gold House stands out as a true epicentre of creation – a reflection of Christian Dior’s fascination with art, where one may discover a multitude of works by Thai artists. The garden – a marvellous, luxuriant paradise of countless botanical references – greets visitors with installations by Boonserm Premthada and Saran Yen Panya of 56th Studio, who here reinterpret the beloved tuk-tuk in a version that celebrates the prodigious diversity of exceptional craftsmanship.

Echoing this enchantment, sculptures by Wishulada Panthanuvong constellate the concept store, while an incredible armchair by Eggarat Wongcharit punctuates a room in the boutique. Here and there, mirrors, objects and furniture by Sumphat – the duo of Rush Pleansuk and Philippe Moisan –confer on each space a distinct identity blending beauty and functionality. In a final surprise, the artists Vassana Saima and Savin Saima de Vassana reinvent the iconic Lady Dior, an homage to the traditional art of floral arrangement.

The dreamlike escape continues at the Café Dior by Mauro Colagreco, for which the artist Korakot Aromdee conceived an extraordinary scenography populated by magical flora and fauna. In this poetic world, trees, plants and birds seem to come to almost three-dimensional life. Customers and gourmets are invited to taste dishes by Mauro Colagreco, who developed a bespoke menu for Dior Gold House in order to express Dior’s heritage. Embodying the philosophy and vision of the Michelin three-star chef and his love of gardens, a gourmet partition draws inspiration from nature, its rhythms and cycles, to create a sumptuous blend of haute cuisine and haute couture. The menu presents a selection of desserts, sweet bouquet ice-cream cones and pastries decorated with House emblems.

An unparalleled address that forges powerful new ties between French and Thai excellence – a testament, more than ever, to Dior’s creative audacity as seen through the prism of dreams.
