Sleek and highly architectural, it’s an object that harmoniously melds glass with metal, like a quintessential fusion. Born of a captivating dialogue between the House of Dior and the internationally renowned Swiss studio atelier oï, Bouquet Privé – with its avant-garde allure worthy of a modern sculpture – signals a revolution in the art of home fragrance diffusers.

A multi-disciplinary place of expression, atelier oï explores “poethical” visions of inventiveness that aim to bring people ever closer to the elements, to nature… and to scent. Theirs is a world that would have fascinated Christian Dior, who as a child at the villa Les Rhumbs, near Granville, fell in love with flowers, particularly the wild roses that grew on the cliffs of Normandy, which his mother also tended in the family’s magnificent garden. Thus began a story from which the co-founders of atelier oï drew freely: “It was in taking inspiration from two House codes, flowers and cannage, that we imagined the Bouquet Privé, they explain. That evolved into a spectacular metallic circle in cannage, an iconic Dior motif, paired with an ethereal matte white glass base, which together compose a stylized bouquet symbolizing both creative audacity and a respect for heritage. Though minimalist, the design required dozens of hours to develop in order to accommodate refills, as eco-design and sustainability were at the heart of the project.

The olfactory quartet, meanwhile, infuses the fine rattan wands that diffuse delicate fragrances like so many singular yet complementary ambiances*. Jardin d’Orangers marries the warm aromas of neroli with the fresher ones of citrus; Oud Suprême captures the smoke-tinged nobility of oud wood; Thé Osmanthus honours the vaguely jasmine-like Osmanthus blossom, blending it with indulgent apricot; lastly, Eden-Roc embodies the sun-kissed enchantment of the French Riviera by celebrating notes of pine and the beauty of the Mediterranean.

As Christian Dior himself said: “That’s why I became a perfumer: by opening a bottle, you can see all my dresses.” A powerful echo, an ultra-contemporary way of attaching as much importance to the atmosphere of a home as to the perfume worn on the skin.

* A constant object of desire, Bouquet Privé delivers its aromas continuously for up to 12 weeks.
