Following the House’s recent advances in Reverse Aging – the turnaround of processes linked to visible ageing of the skin – a major, essential new milestone was reached this year. For the first time, Dior Science has revealed the key role played by the “Protein of Life” (known as Superoxide Dismutase), demonstrating its influence on the skin’s evolution as the years go by. This is the most in-depth genomic study ever carried out on preserving the skin’s youthful appearance; Dior researchers, in collaboration with renowned French laboratories and institutes, analyzed nearly 60,000 genes in the human genome. Their conclusion: the “Protein of Life” declines by 40% over time.
In 2024, the result is a revolution driven by Dior Science, with the intensive infusion of significant quantities of this “Protein of Life” into the L’Or de Vie skincare range. This process was made possible thanks to Golden Drop Life Technology, which brings together the quintessence of Yquem’s active ingredients: up to twice as concentrated, this complex revitalizes the skin’s natural longevity system, a science of ultimate cosmetic precision. The skin regains its youthfulness, becoming immediately more radiant, stronger and resplendent with life.
Its packaging beautifully reflects the refinement of its contents. Eco-designed and refillable, L’Or de Vie flacons have been redesigned like jewels unto themselves, inspired by the goldsmiths in Dior’s high watchmaking ateliers. Once open, the coffret reveals the rays of a brilliant sun, echoing the natural wonders that take place on the estate of Yquem.
As a final surprise, an exclusive creative dialogue between Dior and Aristide Najean, the lone French glassblower based in Murano, has resulted in a magnificent limited series of five pieces – available this fall – enhanced with a cluster of grapes and an elegant glass base specially designed by the artist. A highly symbolic and organic way of paying tribute to the symbiosis between earth and mineral, science and fire, the golden lustre of life and the art of Dior beauty. |
